(BEWARE of the UNDERWEAR)
L: most embarrassing gym story ever. running on the track at the gym. i realized there was something in the middle of the track as i was making my 2nd lap around realized it was a pair of underwear...then realized it was MY underwear
ME: !!!!!!
L: it was stuck in my shirt from the dryer i think
ME: HILARIOUS. how long was it ON your shorts while you were running i wonder??!?!
L: i really thought i was going to die
ME: well no one saw them right?
L: oh, everyone on the track saw them
ME: but no one knew they were yours, right? they weren't the kind of undies you ironed a label with you name on it into the back? like for when you went to camp? i'm assuming no.
L: i am sure someone saw them fall out of my shirt. there were a ton of people up there
ME: aw did you turn all all red?
L: oh yeah...and started laughing hysterically.
ME: awwww
L: so that just happened.
TRUEstory: L, Charlotte, NC.

Sadie Nardini: Top 10 Reasons Not To Do Yoga →
outofhabit: stephanieinnewyork 1) You enjoy looking 9 years older than you are. After all, Joan Crawford is super hot—so bring on the crow’s feet! 2) You embrace those heavy metal toxins building up in your body as a badass homage to your Kiss concert days. Rock on! 3) Your marathon time is just fine the way it is. No need for more speed. 4) You firmly believe that the junk in...

MOTIVATION: National Move Your Booty Day! October...
Despite the fact that there's no Hallmark card for this occasion (yet), three MYBers are officially celebrating Nat'l MYB Day this coming Saturday with a 4 mile run in the park. This is kindofabigdeal because on countless mornings on the Upper East Side loyal MYBers Bonnie and Melissa go running...without me! All the way downtown, I am sad and lonely running the Billyburg bridge all by my lonesome (though sometimes with Koray...other times, just sleeping in completely and skipping the run). But on this special day, I'm invited! So I'm upping (per their request) their usual 2-3 mile route around the reservoir to the 4 mile loop in Central Park. Run to be followed by brunch, shopping, and party hopping into Saturday night.**it should be noted that these events (in this specific order) are the ONLY way to celebrate this holiday if you so choose to join us in the festivities wherever you may be.**
Our planning discussion went as such:
EM: So. Run. Brunch. Shop. DL's Housewarming? KD's bday party?? Fun on a Saturday night!!!
MEL: yep i am planning on going to DL's. i am free til 4, when i have a haircut so as to stop looking like i have perched a rat's nest on my head. what time do festivities begin?
EM: run @ 11?
BONS: perfect - consider me booked in for the entire day!
EM: perf! our central park 4 mile loop will start at 90th where i'm guessing you guys normally enter. we're skipping the BIG major hills in the park. you can thank me later. there are some rolling hills, but you guys will kill it. we'll go clockwise. bathroom and gatorade breaks available along the route! slow and steady will win the first official MYB non-race 4 mile running challenge!!! medals to be awarded to the first 3 finishers. BONUS: the marathon 5 miler kick off is on Sunday so maybe they'll be setting up the marathon signs and finish!!
BONS: amazing. i assume we will then proceed to the National MYB Day Ticker-Tape Parade where we will ride on the lead float and wave to adoring fans.
MEL: omg i am bringing a camera so we can run across it for the first and only time in mine and bonnie's lives :-)
EM: We'll see about that when NEXT year's Nat'l MYB day rolls around....

MOTIVATION: solid foods!
Blueprint Cleanse: Foundation Cleanse, 3 days: Complete! I’m back on solid ground again—hooray! DAY ONE: Definitely felt good. Probably just mental. But I really like the juices and they were easier to drink this time than the first go-‘round. They’re not your typical sugary fruit juice. They’re hardcore green-gotta-shake-well-with-a-zang-of-lemon juice or...

The Green Smoothie Revolution
outofhabit: nutritionista: You’ll want to read this guest post I wrote for Mary… You could win a book! i love making “green” smoothies, even if tony wants to kill me every time i use the blender to make them [our blender is pretty shitty so i have to put every ingredient in separately so it doesn’t get bogged down].  my standard, go-to recipe is: 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 1...

MOTIVATION: a 5K in the fall
girlwearsmascara: Dearest Cary, So, I’m running a 5k this fall.  For real.  Haven’t signed up yet (because of what I’m about to describe), but, I want to do it. Yes, I’m aware a 5k is a paltry daily jog for those of you runners on tumblr, but it’s a lot for someone who loves her cardio equipment. I’ve been doing the much heralded Couch to 5k podcast (available on itunes).  It’s boring after...

MOTIVATION: Run of Shame...
emphasisadded: The Chicago marathon route goes directly in front of my friend’s apartment. This friend just informed me that after a particularly crazy Saturday night out, he was forced to do the walk of shame THROUGH the marathon. “Walks of shame” are tough under even the best of circumstances…but having to park 2 blocks from your home and actually dash in between 40,000 runners (while...
