MOTIVATION: we can be taught new tricks.
Your body is more capable than you think. Fix your mind on a destination and your body will go there. Don’t decide ahead of time what you can and cannot do. Let your body explore and attempt to reach new heights. Stay open to them in your mind and your body will follow. Then push yourself towards that new territory willingly. And then all possibilities open up. We practice and we improve. We try something and slowly get the hang of it.
We can be taught new tricks.

MOTIVATION: everyday is raceday.
Where are you running this weekend? What’s your course? Will you go someplace you’ve never gone before? Take a new route? Conquer a park path, steep bridge or long running route you’re trying for the first time? Get out there and do it! Weekends are great for amping it up, going for that extra mile, speeding up the pace. Push yourself. It’s the weekend. Work for your play time. Earn your rest days.

MOTIVATION: push yourself & those around you.
The crazy cool thing about MoveYourBooty is that you guys push me as much (or even more!) than I push you! Yesterday I wouldn’t have worked out if my friend Erica hadn’t asked me to join her in a Monday night class @ Uplift Studios. I wouldn’t have grabbed the 10lb weights in class if our rockstar trainer Michelle hadn’t inspired me to. This morning I wouldn’t have gotten to my cycling class were it not for my boyfriend who pushes me out of the house on time (that’s one human alarm clock that cannot be snoozed). And I wouldn’t have pushed through the class itself were it not for our kickass teacher, Lauren (who provided the quote below). The power of people is huge. We have the ability to feed off of each other’s strength and energy. But we also hold the responsibility to pay it forward and inspire those around us as well. Push yourself. But also push each other. We’re a pack on a mission. We’re all in this together. And if we join forces, we’re all that much stronger!
MOTIVATION: explore your outer limits.
Running the same old routes, going to the same old classes, doing the same old workouts. Your body is onto you, you know. Eventually they get used to it all. And your body stops improving, your muscles stop growing. You plateau.
Turn up the juice! Change it up! Shake things up!
Do something you’ve never done. Go somewhere you’ve never been. Push yourself just past the limits of your comfort zone. On those outskirts you’ll push your limits and realize your reach goes further than you ever thought.
Take this weekend to try something new. Even one single turn along the way can be make a big different. Push yourself. Your body is ready and waiting.

MOTIVATION: you can go further than you think.
Just try. One more mile. Ten more minutes. Five more reps. One more sprint. Maybe two. Just try. Your body will prove your head’s self-doubt wrong. Your heart knew all along. But you have to try. You’re stronger than you think. You’re tougher than you think. You’re more resilient than you think. You will succeed. But you have to try. And keep trying. And keep trying. You will succeed. But only if you try.

MOTIVATION: dig deep.
You may not always “feel” like working out. You may not always want to push yourself that extra mile. But unlike impulse shopping or shots at the end of the night, you’ll never regret that extra push. But it takes work. It doesn’t just happen to you. You must will it, push yourself and dig deep. Out of great work comes great accomplishment. You won’t regret it.

MOTIVATION: stay in motion.
Sometimes we don’t always know where we’re going. Sometimes we don’t know whether to turn right or left. What we do know is that sitting still and going nowhere won’t lead us to the answers of any of those questions. We must stay in motion. Take risks. Push ourselves. Unless we try, or take one direction or the other, we’ll never know what’s possible. Keep trying, stay dedicated, push through the tough days to get to the smooth days. Keep going. Keep pushing. And with every step we’ll get closer to where we’re going—or perhaps closer to who we’ll be when we get there.
