REAL PEOPLE ROCK: the jen in DC edition.
Oh how I miss my running buddy! Sigh. Jen was the best. Though currently living in DC (miss you!), she was my go-to morning running buddy in NYC for many a year. Nothing could keep us apart, not even the time we lived on opposite ends of Central Park and would loop around in such a perfectly timed manner that we’d have a precious 3 out of 6 miles together. No matter how early, how hot or how cold it was, we’d crack up, usually trip on something, get deep about life and keep a rockin’ pace. And she’d happily do all the arm workouts I made her do mid-run without protest. This is rare. DC runners, you are a lucky bunch! Thank goodness for long distance running dates. :)
1. Where do you live? Washington, DC (far too far from my running buddy)
2. What’s your favorite way to Move Your Booty? Running with my running buddy, EmYB…it’s been a tough few months since I moved away from her. Other than running, I’m a fan of the impromptu dance party in my living room.
3. What’s your greatest MYB accomplishment so far? Does making the high school cheerleading squad count…?
4. What’s your current MYB goal? To become a regular yogi. I don’t understand why they don’t allow talking though…it really cramps my style.
5. What’s your favorite workout song/pump up jam? Well, “Yeah!” by Usher really never gets old for me. Currently, anything by Pitbull really pumps me up…Pitbull can do no wrong.
6. Whats the one piece of workout clothing, equipment or accessory you could NOT live without? I could live without most of this crap, but I probably couldn’t live without a hair band, a good sports bra, and thin running socks.
7. What motivates you? That feeling, right after you finish the run, when all the stress is gone and your mind is clear…it’s one of the greatest feelings.
8. If you could share one workout secret with the world, what would it be? Oh, I guess my answer to number 7. Running—or working out in general—feels the best right after you finish. And the best strategy to keep going is to totally zone out, but not to the point that you trip because you’re not paying attention (culprit).
*9. (extra credit): What’s your workout style? Aka SWEATstyle. Oh, this one’s hard. I guess that’s why it’s for extra credit. I’m a fan of the random old/hand-me-down t-shirt. Old t-shirts from my dad’s sportier days, or the t-shirt we got in 5th grade with everyone from my class’s name on it, or t-shirts from places I’ve traveled to (currently an “I <3 Laos” shirt). Yeah, I suppose that’s a “style,” right?
