dailyMYB: WHY IT’S OK TO F*&K UP.
We’re a competitive society. We strive to be the best at everything and to win any way we possibly can. As a result, many of us will never try something we love simply because we don’t think we’ll be “good enough.” But what if it were okay to try and fail? What if there was something that wasn’t about winning or losing? What if it was simply just about showing up and doing? Shift your focus of fitness to be just that.
Fitness is a safe space in which you can pour your entire self into without judgment. Simply by showing up, you’ve already won half the battle. Once inside you the door you can explore the lengths to which your body is capable of taking you. You’ll have good days and bad. You’ll push yourself and discover a side of yourself you never knew—or haven’t seen for a while. Fitness is a place in which you can play and evolve. It’s not always about acing the test – it’s about the hard work you put into preparing for it and what you learn about yourself in the process. If you “just do it,” like Nike says, you’ll never fail.

MOTIVATION: embrace mistakes.
Don’t let your mistakes and missteps stop you in your tracks. We slip up, we fall, we fuck up. It’s inevitable. We’re human, not robots. Instead of letting those mistakes defeat you, accept them and move on. Make them work for you instead. Take what they’ve taught you and make new memories. You can’t change the past, might as well make the future even better. You officially now know what not to do. You’ve got firsthand experience. Often, that’s really the only way to learn. If you don’t let it slow you down, no one else will either.
