Don’t be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Take those first steps. Don’t let fear of the unknown paralyze you. Just begin. And each step won’t seem so frightening.

Keep on beginning and failing. Each time you fail, start all over again, and you will grow stronger until you have accomplished a purpose…not the one you began with perhaps, but one you’ll be glad to remember.

MOTIVATION: SET YOURSELF UP TO SUCCEED
Why wing it and risk failure and a crappy experience when you can set yourself up to succeed and hit a home run? Don’t screw yourself by showing up to something without the proper prep. A workout is no different than any other life situation you prepare for and execute. You go into an interview prepared and ready right? Go into your workout the same way. Need music? Pump up the jamz. Need a workout buddy? Call in some backup. Need a new sports bra that actually supports you? Yeah, you should probably go get one of those. Do you sweat even in wintertime? Maybe grab a dri-fit shirt. Just sayin. Whatever you need to succeed, get to it. You want NOTHING in your way when it comes time to get your MYB on. Now get out there!

MOTIVATION: believe you can.
It seems quite simple really. You want something? Are you working towards something? Have any goals lately? If you don’t believe you can do it, why should anyone else? Why should your body when your mind isn’t on board? Simply believe in what you want. Believe in yourself. Don’t shoot yourself down before you’ve even begun. Will yourself towards your goals. Get out of your own way. Be your own cheerleader. Push yourself towards that thing you want. Don’t accept no for an answer. Do not back away. Mentally psych yourself out in the direction of your goals. And it won’t be just a belief or a dream—it will become your reality. But only when you treat it that way.

MOTIVATION: you can go further than you think.
Just try. One more mile. Ten more minutes. Five more reps. One more sprint. Maybe two. Just try. Your body will prove your head’s self-doubt wrong. Your heart knew all along. But you have to try. You’re stronger than you think. You’re tougher than you think. You’re more resilient than you think. You will succeed. But you have to try. And keep trying. And keep trying. You will succeed. But only if you try.

Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

Winston Churchill
