dailyMYB: YOU CAN DO MORE THAN YOU THINK.
Body follows mind. Plain and simple.
Think you CAN’T do something and your body will follow suit. The minute your mind accepts defeat—even before it has actually happened—your body shuts down. However, think you CAN do something — even before your body actually proves it — and your body wills it so. Funny how that works. Maybe that whole “mind over matter” thing ain’t so bad.
So how does it relate to fitness? You’re either in shape or out, right? Wrong. Way wrong. Think you can run that extra mile? Pedal that much harder? Hold that crazy hard pose one minute more? Workout on a day you thought you couldn’t? Convince your mind you can and your body will. Guaranteed you will surprise yourself.
For example, set out on a run you say will be 2 miles long and by 2 miles, you’ll be tired enough to stop. But, set out on a run to last all of 6 miles — a full 10K — and you’ll blast by that 2 mile mark in a flash. Come mile 5 and 6, you’ll be ready to cross that finish.
When you commit to a fitness activity, it’s not just about being psychically ready. It’s about being MENTALLY ready, too. When you train your body you also train your mind.
Forget what others think or say or do. Because the MOST important person you need to convince of your potential is YOU.
It’s not about whether your body CAN or CAN’T do something. It’s the will to mentally accept that perhaps you can. All your body needs is the sign from your mind that it’s possible.

MOTIVATION: think outside the gym.
Let go of what you think counts as a so-called “workout.”
Throw out any definition you have. Open your mind. Think big. Think outside the gym. Break free of what you’ve always done. That workout you have to drag yourself to kicking and screaming and hate so much you often skip? Ditch it. A workout doesn’t have to take place in a gym or even a class. It doesn’t have to be a 7 mile run. It doesn’t have to include spandex leggings or $200 hi-tech running shoes. It does, however, need to make you work up a sweat and get your heart pumping. Quite literally it needs to move your booty. Take those words literally and truly move your booty ANY WAY you like. And while you’re at it, make it awesome. Make it social. Make it fun. Any workout that does anything less than inspire you and leaving you feeling like you could take on the world shouldn’t be given the time of day. Your time is too precious, your life is too short. A workout shouldn’t beat you down, it should lift you up. You hold the power to seek out that workout that takes you to the next level. Don’t wait for it to find you because it may not. Seek it out! Fitness is YOUR time. Make it awesome.
Don’t just join a gym. Join a MOVEMENT. Don’t just workout. MOVE YOUR BOOTY®! Don’t just survive. THRIVE.
Any way, any how. Just keep moving. #moveyourbooty

dailyMYB: MULTITASK YOUR SWEAT.
Think about how much you do in your day—at once. Even before work you’re drinking coffee, responding to emails, fixing lunch and changing outfits. Once at work we’re on 8 different websites, talking on our headsets while answering emails and doing paperwork. We’re a multitasking society! We see every opportunity for productivity as one that can be improved. So why not multitask your workout, too? Make your workout work for you.
Here are a few ways I multitask my workouts:
1. Run your errands. Literally. Grocery shop on the way home from your workout, pick up the dry cleaning, drop off laundry, run by the pharmacy, etc. Knocking out errands AND your workout will check two HUGE things off your to-do list. 2. Sweat + Learn. Many of us listen to music anyway to workout. What if you listened to that audiobook you haven’t had time to read, an online lecture for school or a podcast you really like? While it’s great to zone out on workouts sometimes, it’s also good to move your mind by listening to news or books. 3. Workout with friends. Can’t decide whether to grab dinner with a friend or workout? Do both! Catching up over a run or at the gym is an awesome way to spend quality time together. 4. Run/bike/walk to explore. Check out an area by running through it or familiarize yourself with a new neighborhood.
We only have so much time on our hands. Make it worthy. How can you make your SWEAT work for you? High-res
